Job Title: Manager, Asset Management
Salary Range: $92,987 - $130,182
Hay Points: 634

Supervisor: Director IT Marketplace
Location: 2 Broadway New York NY 10004
Hours of Work: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM (7.5 hours/day)

This position is eligible for telework which is currently two days per week. New hires are eligible to apply 30 days after their effective date of hire.


SUMMARY

This position is responsible for the overall day to day operations of the asset management department. A strong knowledge of working technologies within the MTA environment is required to make the appropriate decisions on various technology requests. This role will also need to develop and motivate personnel within the department, improve upon existing asset management practices and policies and partner with the appropriate departments to ensure that all commodities are accurately recorded in the system of record.


RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide prompt and effective coaching, constructive guidance for asset management team
  • Recommend process improvements where appropriate.
  • Generate, distribute and review relevant management and ad-hoc reports.
  • Research industry best practices and compare against the organization’s practices to establish benchmarks for managing IT assets.
  • Effectively communicate asset management strategies to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Oversight of outstanding ServiceNow request processing
  • Lifecycle Management of assets (Planning and Execution for End-of-Life replacement)
  • Work closely with the purchasing team to ensure all purchases are properly executed
  • Ensure enforcement of warehouse/inventory management policies.
  • Central point for notification and facilitation of projects which require hardware, software and mobile commodities.
  • Attending various meetings as needed
  • Interaction with multiple areas to resolve issues (Support teams, clients, etc.)
  • Engage with vendor representatives to build and foster relationships.
  • People Management
  • Work together with Director of IT Marketplace to improve processes and enforce MTA Asset Management policies.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of MTA/Agency policies and procedures.
  • A broad understanding of current and emerging technologies.
  • Minimum of ten years of demonstrated success and progressive experience in managing key sub-functions of IT for Transportation Company.
  • Experience in the areas of strategic planning, business planning, data analysis, data reporting, statistical process control and customer support.
  • Extensive knowledge of industry trends related to transportation information systems and related technology.
  • Ability to quickly adjust to the constantly changing requirements, priorities and demands of the business units.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of business processes involved flow of resources between the point of origin and the point of consumption in order to meet the requirements of the end user.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to understand key concepts and communicate with technical staff, business stakeholders and senior management.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and influence individuals at all levels in a matrix-management environment, as well as external vendors and service providers, to ensure that segregation and overlapping roles are identified and coordinated.
  • Strong organizational skills, the ability to perform under pressure and to manage multiple priorities with competing demands for resources.
  • Strong analytical, data processing and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in process formulation and improvement.
  • Proficient in working in a fast-paced, complex, dynamic, multicultural business environment.
  • Successful history with building relationships with vendors and customers.
  • Prior experience in Operations, Inventory control, Warehouse Management, and cycle counting skills, strongly preferred.
EDUCATION


A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Business Administration, Engineering, Finance, Information Services (or the equivalent of education and progressive responsible experience) plus a minimum of 8 years of Information Technology experience with at least 4 years of progressive IT managerial experience.
