The main purpose of the role is to assist the Learning & Development team in their ongoing support to meet the training needs of the organisation as well as being involved in projects to support external customers with their training needs.

This role enables you to understand the different training requirements for the whole council ranging from Social Care to Finance. It will give you an insight into the way training contributes to their continued professional development.

This role deals with both internal and external customers, ranging from Care Homes, Schools, Nurseries as well as assisting our internal employees.

An opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Learning & Development Apprentice to join the Learning & Development team within the Talent & Development Service. This is a great chance to gain the Business Administrator Advanced Apprenticeship Business Administration Level 3 whilst working for the Learning & Development.

As part of this role, you can expect to undertake the following tasks:

  • Uploading courses to our electronic course system (iShare)
  • Updating of personnel training records
  • Email inbox monitoring and responding to queries
  • Send out course certificates
  • Booking meeting and training rooms
  • Setting up and closing of training rooms
  • Meeting and greeting of trainers and course facilitators
  • Creation of course delegate sheets
  • Responding to simple queries via telephone or email
  • Assisting with the bookings for the Medway College of Social Care
  • Assisting with project work when required

For Level 3 Apprentice’s - The Business Administrator Apprenticeship is a two-year programme incorporating real work experience and learning, to gain the knowledge and development of skills and behaviours to successfully complete the programme. This apprenticeship involves approximately 18 months on the job development, followed by an end point assessment consisting of a knowledge test, a presentation on the project completed; and a discussion on the portfolio of learning and development produced during the apprenticeship. A grading of either Pass or Distinction is achievable.

Ideally you will have good communication and interpersonal skills, combined with competent IT skills, accurate data entry along with a good attention to detail. However, we are happy to support you to reach those goals if you are highly motivated and have the desire to learn and succeed.
