STATUS: Part Time (20 Hours)
LOCATION: Bay Creek Dialysis Center, Webster, NY
DEPARTMENT: Dialysis
SCHEDULE: Day and Evening Schedule with an every other Saturday rotation
ATTRIBUTES
Graduation from an accredited School of Practical Nursing or equivalent
Strong communication, customer service and interpersonal skills
Willingness and ability to work early morning shifts
Friendly, compassionate and patient focused
- Current licensure in the State of New York
- Completion of the NYS Department of Health and NYS DOE approved training curriculum for LPN’s working in Outpatient Hemodialysis Units (completed as part of unit based orientation)
- Completion of the NYS DOH and NYS DOE approved annual competency for LPN’s accessing central lines in a hemodialysis unit (completed as part of unit based orientation)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required
RESPONSIBILITIES
Patient Care & Evaluation. Conduct a thorough assessment of each patient’s medical status upon admission and throughout the patient’s course of treatment; provide regular patient status updates
Treatment Administration. Assist in the implementation of the patient’s treatment plan under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN); initiate and discontinue dialysis treatments using multiple access sites; administer IVP medications to dialysis patients
Documentation. Complete required documentation in an accurate and timely manner Nurse, in accordance with established plans.
