Education / Licensure

This position requires graduation from an accredited school of practical nursing, licensing as a practical nurse in South Carolina and 1 year of experience as as a LPN.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

This position requires considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of nursing and their relationship to the prevention and control of disease, the knowledge and application of professional conduct in the care of individuals and other staff, the ability to maintain accurate records and accountability, physical abilities to include balancing, stooping kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting (without assistance 50 pounds and with assistance over 50 pounds, grasping, hearing, repetitive motions, driving (including nights), counting, working 12 hour shifts or double shifts as necessary, running, smelling ability.

Duties

Provide nursing care, treatment and training of all assigned individuals in accordance with SC Nurse Practice Act and SC Dept of Disabilities and Special Needs policies and procedures.

Monitor health conditions of the individuals and report findings to the medical provider and other appropriate staff.

Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment.

Assure accountability and protection from harm for all individuals with appropriate and thorough documentation.
