Primary Job Responsibilities:

- Constantly and consistently exhibit Ocean House core values and standards of behavior including adherence to the Forbes 5-Star standards.
- Answer reservations telephone and greet guests warmly.
- Understand callers request and respond with positive and engaging conversation.
- “Paint the picture” of the Ocean House experience by sharing information about the Ocean House rooms, public space, amenities, activities, dining options, history and local activities and attractions that seem attractive to the caller based on their described purpose for a visit.
- Where possible, pro-actively offer services, activities or recommendations that are personalized to the caller’ needs.
- If the caller is not satisfied, suggest alternative dates, rates or options within approved limits to ensure the caller’s needs are met, if possible.
- Address requests from registered guests prior to their visit regarding amenities, activity and dining reservations as well as any other questions or requests.
- Provide callers with warm farewells and inform them that Ocean House is looking forward to their visit or invite them to call again for a future reservation as appropriate.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Transfer callers to appropriate extension as necessary.
- Respond to caller and guest requests.
- Maintain room number and credit card information control and confidentiality.
- Other duties as assigned.
Past Work Experience:
Prior reservation or call center experience preferred
Computer experience required, preferably in reservation or call center environment.
Experience in hotel or resort sales, reservations or front office operations strongly preferred,'
Exceptional ability to engage in friendly, polite conversation even if caller becomes upset.
Must speak clearly and understandably.
Exceptional telephone skills.
Physical Requirements:
Environment: Performance of duties occurs indoors in temperature controlled office setting.
Body Mechanics: Position will be primarily performed sitting in a chair and requires use of telephone and computer equipment. Opportunities will exist for Agent to stand for brief periods of time as desired.
