Inova Fairfax Hospital is looking for a dedicated Magnet Program Director — Registered Nurse (RN) to join the team. Inova Fairfax Hospital was awarded Magnet® designation by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) awarded in December 2020. As a Magnet Program Director at Inova Fairfax Hospital, you will coordinate Magnet education and staff development and facilitate the development of shared governance/shared decision-making system level Magnet Committees.

Job Responsibilities:

• Coordinating the Magnet application, documentation, designation, re-designation, and biannual reports is expected.
• Act as a resource to customers regarding Magnet standards and processes while serving as an advisor to nursing leadership regarding Magnet standards.
• Negotiates services/resources to meet nursing division objectives.
• Develop and effectively manage the Magnet budget.
• Promotes strategic planning while addressing implementation of Magnet standards.
• Delivers consultations to other divisions/services. Works with Marketing and Public Relations to produce Magnet related publicity materials.
• Provides guidance and mentoring for nurse committee leaders and members. Models the Magnet philosophy throughout the organization.
• Supports staff in the development of unit-based communications, publications and educational programs regarding nursing and Magnet yearly objectives.
• Oversees system preparation for the American Nurses Credentialing Center site visit. Interprets the American Nurses Association standards of practice and code of ethics for the organization while facilitating their integration.
• Makes recommendations to appropriate committees regarding shared governance model. Facilitates education/training for shared governance system.

Additional requirements:

• 3 years of clinical experience.
• Prior experience leading organizations to successful Magnet Designation and re-designation highly preferred.
• 3 years of progressive management experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN); MSN preferred.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of VA as a Registered Nurse.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work with interdisciplinary teams.
• Ability to demonstrate Magnet philosophy through coaching and mentoring.
