Opportunity

The primary function of Maintenance Planner-Cast Iron Maintenance is to improve work output through the scheduling and planning of nonreactive work. The successful candidate must be detail-oriented, possess excellent organization skills, hands on experience, communicate effectively and be self-directed.

As part of the position, time in the field and the ability to seek feedback will be essential in developing job plans. Having a positive and genuine spirt will maintain a collaborative environment for daily communications with frontline leadership and skilled trades’ associates. Applying a drive and passion for continuous improvement are essential to the position.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Evaluate incoming work requests for required information and segregate the work appropriately as a key element in the planning / scheduling process.
  • Determine job commencement date by priority, relative to the schedule, through consultation with production, maintenance supervision and material lead-time requirements.
  • Evaluate existing and incoming work volumes and communicate with requester to establish priority and use partner contractors when necessary to meet established priority.
  • Prepare a detailed weekly schedule that identifies daily activities, including allowance for emergency work and preapproved vacations.
  • Revise the weekly schedule for major changes in project scope affecting resources and communicate these changes to all effected parties.

Skills/Requirements

  • High school graduate with a minimum of two years technical school or equivalent practical training.
  • Minimum of 2+ years’ hands-on experience in technical field.
  • Previous experience in maintenance planning preferred.
  • Previous experience with SAP or similar ERP systems preferred.
