Located 111 miles north of Los Angeles, Bakersfield is a city on the Kern River, north of Los Angeles. Displays at the Buena Vista Museum of Natural History focus on geology and paleontology. On the city’s northeastern edge, the California Living Museum explores the state’s flora and fauna, and has a reptile house and a touch tank. - Competitive starting pay rate of $29.04 - $39.88/hour depending on experience
- $1,000 sign on bonus
- Eligible for annual & skill-based wage increases
Available Shift
- Monday - Friday: 7:30am - 4:00pm

- Assembling and installing machines/equipment
- Must work in full compliance of safety regulations including ISO and OSHA
- Managing layouts and placement of equipment/designs to ensure minimal downtime
- Identifying and repairing problematic machinery
- Working with Engineering group on projects, upgrades, and repairs
- On-site fabrication
- Heavy corrective repair support
- Operations of heavy equipment
- Project Planning and take-offs
- Coordination with Inventory Technician on parts ordering and inventory
- Reading schematics and blueprints
- Creating and completing work orders within CMMS
- Critical Lifts including equipment capacities, hand signals, proper rigging practice and equipment inspection
- Coordination with Subcontractors to obtain job completion and represent/adopt Pactiv rules and regulations
- Uses precision tools, machinery and equipment such as lathe vertical milling machine, drill press, hydraulic press, chop saw, band saw and variety of cutting/grinding tools and equipment
- Performs daily and regular cleaning of equipment and work area
- Evaluate experimental procedures and recommend change or modifications for efficiency and adaptability
- Ensure proper lock-out tag-out procedures are adhered to while performing work on machines and equipment
- Structural repairs of facility
- Prep and paint of equipment
- 10 years fabricating at journeyman level
- Ability to perform mathematical computations and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations
- Ability to define problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instruction in mathematical or diagram form.
- Ability to work in extreme conditions indoor and outdoor
- Ability to work in noisy environment
- Ability to lift 50lbs
- While performing duties of the job, the employee is required to regularly stand, walk and reach with hands and arms
- Must be able to use measurement tooling such as ruler, tape measure, micrometer, calipers, alignment, and assorted hand tools
- Ability to obtain forklift and areal lift certifications
