Kite, Santa Monica is seeking a Maintenance Technician II responsible for performing repairs, installation, troubleshooting, and documentation for all equipment used in clinical manufacturing, R D research labs, utilities, HVAC Systems, and core and shell facilities maintenance. Maintenance Technician II is expected to complete all work assigned while complying with cGMP, Kite Global and site-specific procedures.

This position is open for Third Shift - 10 p.m. - 6:30 a.m.

Responsibilities:

  • Attend SQDIP meetings, completing work orders/work requests.
  • Accurately document completed work according to the cGMP regulations and work order management system guidelines.
  • Troubleshoot electro-mechanical systems, pneumatic systems, air handling units, vacuum pumps, air compressors, cooling towers and various utility support equipment.
  • Support with maintaining LN2 Cryo Tanks/ Incubators and various Freezers used in research labs.
  • Understand and work with EMS/BMS platforms.
  • Troubleshoot industrial electrical systems, motor controls and motor installations.
  • Start and direct the implementation of small improvement projects.
  • Understand and interpret reports from predictive technologies like Vibration analysis of motors Infra-Red Thermography of electrical systems.
  • Work in different shifts and provide after-hours, holidays and weekend support.
  • Review and close NCR’s to maintain compliance above the goal.
  • Work with planner to assure scheduled time slots for work as appropriate and work plans are applicable to the equipment. Work with planner/scheduler to update work plans and spare parts as updates are needed.
  • Responsible to inform scheduler of any scheduled work that cannot be completed during scheduled time frame and work out a reschedule along with communication to planning/scheduling team including management.
  • Attend and participate all requested meetings.
  • Participate in Kite safety programs along with developing any required JHA’s or assessments which includes promoting Sphera submissions within the group.
  • Escort, oversee and coordinate outside contractor activities.
  • Perform all maintenance tasks in compliance with regulatory agencies FDA, OSHA, EPA, AQMD, etc.
  • Maintain GxPLearn Training at 100 % completion rate.
  • Maintain all areas of responsibility Audit ready and participate in addressing findings.
  • Assist Engineering group with achieving project milestones.
  • Support other F/E functional teams to ensure efficient and smooth Facility operations.
  • Plan and schedule own work activities with operations staff to minimize impact to production activities.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree OR
  • Bachelor’s Degree and 2+ years’ experience OR
  • AA Degree and 4+ years’ experience OR
  • High School Degree and 5+ years’ experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expert knowledge of pneumatic, mechanical and automation.
  • Experience in customer service, client satisfaction and well-rounded with written and verbal communication.
  • Experience with interpreting and writing related to document maintenance operations.
  • 5+ years’ experience working in ISO classified rooms in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience on Work management Systems: Blue Mountain, Maximo.
  • Experience with Building/ Equipment Monitoring Systems: Desigo CC/Siemens.
  • Proficient with reviewing and interpreting technical drawings and schematics.
  • Advanced computer skills, Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Experience collaborating and coordinating with higher level outside resources.
  • Yellow belt certification.

The salary range for this position is: $81,940.00 - $106,040.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
