Maintenance Technician - 2nd Shift
Job description
Primary Function
As part of a maintenance team to inspect, replace, repair, install, adjust and maintain all mechanical equipment in the plant.
Responsibilities and Duties
Receives instructions or participates in team decisions regarding scheduled and emergency repairs, installation and inspection tasks.
Inspects plant equipment for defects such as misalignment, wear, insufficient lubrication and repairs such defects.
Determines, with or without team input, the best way to effect repairs so as to minimize production interruptions.
Dismantles, cleans, repairs, replaces, installs, maintains, assembles, adjusts and lubricates plant mechanical equipment and machinery.
Assembles and aligns gears, bearings and shafts.
Ability to troubleshoot other drive components as required.
Operates machine tools and erects scaffolds and performs simple rigging as required.
Sets up, changes and adjusts equipment as required.
Performs preventative maintenance tasks so as to maximize effectiveness of plant equipment.
Keeps work area in a neat and orderly condition and performs all work in a safe and efficient manner.
Understands pneumatically hydraulic control system.
High School diploma or G.E.D. and a minimum of 3 years of experience as an industrial millwright or maintenance technician and/or successful completion of an apprenticeship program or a vocational course of study related to industrial maintenance at a recognized vocational institution required.
Associate's Degree in Industrial Maintenance preferred.
Ability to work effectively as part of a maintenance team.
