Major Account Manager - Verizon
Job Description
At Ribbon Communications, we’re seeking a qualified sales representative to join our Verizon account team and lead and grow certain business segments at Verizon. The sales representative will have the strong understanding of the sales process as it generally relates to Verizon, excelling at creating opportunities, leading cross-functional teams, building relationships, and closing deals. The ideal candidate will a have natural curiosity to aid in hunting for new opportunities, clearly communicate strategies and opportunities to internal teams and Verizon contacts. Often tasked with creating and leading presentations, organizing, and attending social events, it’s essential that our sales representative be personable and professional.
Objectives of this Role
  • Represent Ribbon’s products and services, starting with a deep and comprehensive understanding and following with research, Ribbon team support and customer interaction, identify how our solutions meet needs or create new opportunities for Verizon
  • Meet quarterly and annual sales quotas coupled with a focus on consistent sales forecasting.
  • Generate new opportunities, build relationships, and organize daily work schedule to call on existing or potential sales contacts.
  • Develop, maintain, and implement an account plan through analysis, and adjust sales approaches based on interactions and results in the field
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities
  • Maintain working relationships with existing Verizon contacts to ensure exceptional service and identification of potential new sales opportunities
  • Identify appropriate prospects, set appointments, make effective qualifying sales calls, and manage sales cycle to close new business in all service categories offered
  • Possess in-depth product knowledge and be able to hold discussion/presentations and manage objection handling
  • Prepare professional, complete, concise, and accurate reports, proposals, and other documentation as required for executive-level presentations
  • Achieve sales goals by assessing Verizon needs and following a defined selling process with potential buyers, often utilizing/organizing product demos and presentations
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure for support with sales opportunities
Skills and Qualifications
  • 5-7 years in a sales-type role within a Verizon setting
  • Previous experience selling to Verizon
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, and organizational skills
  • High technical aptitude
  • Ability to sell cross-functionally based on different customer drivers
  • Proficiency with sales management software and CRM
  • Personal integrity
  • Ability to travel
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Proven success rate at levels above quotas
  • Ability to balance persuasion with professionalism
  • Strong organizational skills
