The Marketing Content Writer will be responsible for creating, editing, and proofreading marketing communications across all print and digital platforms including press releases, email, print, video and digital media.
What you will be doing in this role?
- Maintains a creative, consistent theme/voice in all written marketing materials.
- Writes, edits, and proofs written marketing content for all audiences and omnichannel platforms including but not limited to print, digital, videos, social, web and other media.
- Creates and writes correspondence for a variety of audiences in the form of letters, emails, press releases, promotional materials and other marketing communications.
- Writes creative, clear, persuasive, and original copy.
- Edits written content from other areas of the company to ensure brand consistency – including online banking, mobile app, chatbot, text, etc.
- Reviews all marketing work before production to ensure brand message, content, spelling and grammar are accurate.
- Ensures all content is factual.
- Has detailed knowledge of the target audience of each project and maintains an accurate tone of voice.
- Uses SEO principles to maximize copy’s reach.
- Amends, revises or redevelops copy in response to feedback
- Participates in brainstorming sessions to create concepts for current and future brand campaigns.
- Understands credit union policies and procedures and ensures that all marketing communications conform to applicable regulatory and credit union standards.
- Participates and assists in UMCU community and university events such as fall rush.
- Maintains knowledge of and follows all credit union policies and procedures regarding BSA, OFAC, U.S. Patriot Act, Anti-Money Laundering, S.A.F.E Act, CFPB regulations and Customer Identification Program.
- Other duties as assigned.
What you will need for this role?
- Bachelor degree in Communications, Writing, Creative Writing, Public Relations or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years related experience preferred.
- Strong creativity and customer service skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of communication skills
- Strong knowledge about online media and good understand of major marketing channels

- The environment is typical of an office atmosphere. The noise level in the environment is usually moderate.
