Position: Materials Expeditor Reports To: Purchasing Manager

Job Duties

The Materials Expeditor will ensure prompt delivery of materials through constant communication with Planning, Production, Inventory, and Suppliers. The Materials Expeditor facilitates material flow through various departments. The Materials Expeditor identifies ERP system discrepancies and material shortages. The Materials Expeditor will work with Planning on the production schedule, identify shortfalls, and work with supply chain to get improvements and status. The Materials Expeditor will monitor inbound shipping notifications to avoid potential problems with deliveries. The Materials Expeditor reports any status and findings to the Purchasing Manager in a timely manner.

Daily Activities

• Maintains a Hot Materials list with updated status
• Identifies future shortfalls using MRP and proactively works to resolve any issues
• Prioritizes inbound shipments with receiving and inspection based on priorities
• Target specific assemblies when asked to provide viable build date based on current material status and lead time
• Works to resolve Work Order shortages
• Assures production has all MRO items required for the Work Orders
• All other duties as assigned

Skills & Qualification Requirements

• Understanding of a ERP/MRP system required
• Manufacturing experience preferred
• Basic Microsoft Office skills
• Prior experience of Six Sigma / Lean Manufacturing preferred
• Excellent communication skills a must

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 3 years’ experience in related job preferred

Physical Requirements

• Sitting at a desk working on a computer
• Working in a warehouse environment
• Working on a ESD and FOD free production floor
• Must be able to life up to 15 pounds at times

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
