Work Days per Week: 5 days
Hours per Day: 7 hours (minimum of 35 hours per week—1.0 FTE)
Salary: Per appropriate placement on the LSEA master agreement salary schedule

QUALIFICATIONS:
Licensure
- Valid Michigan Professional teaching certificate with a Mathematics (EX) endorsement.
Education, Training & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in related field required; Master’s Degree preferred.
- Successful and positive experience working with high school age students and diverse student populations.
- At least five (5) years successful teaching experience and demonstrated experience as a teacher leader preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Willingness and ability to teach students in grades 9 through 12 using the State of Michigan standards through a variety of courses ranging from Algebra I through Calculus.
- Proven expertise in research-based instructional strategies that engage students and yield positive academic gains.
- Successful experience in the design, development, and implementation of project-based learning, culminating projects and cumulative assessments.
- Demonstrated ability to work in multi-ethnic and multicultural learning environments, employing equitable and inclusive practices.
- Deep knowledge of and experience in data-driven educational
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, using a multitude of platforms.
- Commitment to engage with community and business partners as a resource in curriculum development, work-based learning opportunities, and post-secondary options.
- Commitment, willingness, and ability to positively engage regularly with parents and families of students in order to help students achieve and to promote the work of Lansing Technical High School.
- Willingness to fully participate in year-round local, state, and national conferences, trainings, meetings, and family and community engagement events.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the district’s curriculum program and show written evidence of preparation as required. Prepare lessons that reflect students’ individualized learning needs
- Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, equipment, and technology that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students’ assigned subject matter according to guidelines established by the State of Michigan, board policies, and Lansing Technical High School.
- Assess student learning frequently and use results to adjust teaching. Use ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal means as required and as governed by best practice.
- Work with other members of staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
- Work as part of the school team to build and maintain strong, positive, and consistent school culture and climate, one that is conducive to learning and that is supportive of all people in the building.
- Assist Lansing Technical High School administration and staff in establishing and implementing school-wide public relations, marketing, and recruiting program that promote CTE and target potential enrollees (including Open House programs, promotional campaigns, individual and group demonstrations, and information sessions).
- Assist Lansing Technical High School administration and staff in developing and strengthening relationships with industry partners, institutions of higher education, and community leaders.
- Serve on the SIT, ARC (Academically Rigorous Choices) Advisory Board, and an individual CTE High School Advisory Board.
