Your responsibilities
As a mechanical assembler in our Bilstein Technical Center (BTC) you will manufacture automotive shock absorbers. This role works a 4-10 schedule. This means you will work a 10 hour shift Monday through Thursday and then have Fridays off. Part time applicants may be considered for this role provided that they have a consistent schedule.
Some of your job duties will include:
- Cleaning and preparing parts and sub-assemblies
- Assembling shocks based on drawings or work instructions
- Assembling accessory kits and small parts for inventory
- Performing visual and mechanical inspection of parts, sub-assemblies and assemblies for quality issues.
- Assembling shock absorbers on gas/oil fill machine and testing on dynamometer
- Assisting in collecting and recording data for analyzing valving, performance, fitment and part failure
- Maintaining tools and equipment in good working order
Your profile
Our ideal candidate has a manufacturing background and enjoys working with their hands in a physical role. We love that many of our team are automotive enthusiasts- but don't worry if you're new to suspension. As long as you have a mechanical or manufacturing background and a desire to learn we can teach you the rest.
- One to two years related experience and/or training in a manufacturing or assembly environment
- Intermediate knowledge, skill and ability to operate hand tools, machine equipment, gas/oil fill and dynamometer
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, diagrams and other written instructions
- Intermediate computer skills to understand and navigate the utilization of company software programs such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft
- Certificate from technical or vocational school desired
