The Vehicle Platform Engineering Team is responsible for the design, validation, and delivery of the Glydways Autonomous Transit Vehicle hardware to align with the installation of the Glydways mass transit system. The team works with internal engineering and vendors and is responsible to deliver a vehicle design that generates a fantastic experience for customers while meeting mass transit regulations and all performance criteria. The team work's cross functionally with product design (Similar to studio engineering or product requirement team), test validation, external suppliers, and prototype and production manufacturers to design, develop, and build a unique vehicle architecture.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Work with internal teams to decide vehicle engineering design/specifications, work with suppliers to integrate some purchased components into the vehicle.
  • Design/develop internal components in CAD (Catia or Solid works)
  • Scope may include working with Chassis Design (wheels, suspension, steering, etc), Battery Pack (modules/inverter/high voltage wires), powertrain (electric motor, Transmission, etc), Wiring Harness (sensor packaging, wire routing), Interior Trim (mass transit seating, interior features, safety equipment layout, HVAC), Body Structure/Closures, Vehicle Packaging work etc

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Prior design work and knowledge in an automotive, automotive startup, or similar setting in at least one of the following: Chassis Design (wheels, suspension, steering, etc), Battery Pack assy, Powertrain, Wiring Harness, Interior Trim, Body Structure/Closures, etc
  • Ability to Design in CAD (Catia) working knowledge to expert
  • Fundamental engineering mindset
  • Ability to work in areas of engineering you are unfamiliar with and learn as you go
