This position has up to $10,000.00 extra pay available for Day shift 7a-7p and $15,000.00 extra pay available for Night shift 7p-7a. Must be a full-time Med/Surg RN for WHS and have a minimum of 1 year experience as a RN to be eligible.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Coordinates nursing care and patient/family education for the PEDIATRIC, ADULT, and GERIATRIC patients through the use of the nursing process; maintains positive working relationships with staff and other departments to provide optimal quality outcomes within the framework of professional nursing practice. These responsibilities are met according to hospital policy, hospital mission statement and the philosophy of the Department of Nursing. Basic arrhythmia/telemetry training.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: Operationally, the Staff RN reports to the Unit Manager, Director and the House Supervisor, and administratively to the unit Director and the Chief Nursing Officer.

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY: Demonstrate a knowledge base and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the condition and age of the patients served. The nurse must demonstrate familiarity with the principles of growth and development throughout the life cycle. The nurse must be able to assimilate basic knowledge and patient related data to perform a comprehensive and age appropriate assessment.

REQUIREMENTS: 1) Current Texas RN licensure 2) BLS 3) ACLS 4) PALS

Must have current licensure upon hire. New Hires will have 60 days to acquire the required CPR, ACLS, and PALS.

RECOMMENDED: 1) Specialty Certification

Physical requirements: Able to properly care for the patient population

Universal precautions must be observed, and protective devices worn by the employees when performing those tasks likely to cause exposure.
