The Medical Assistant is responsible for delivering excellent patient care, assisting in preparation for pre-op, post-op, and procedures, and fostering a spirit of teamwork. This position requires an outgoing, friendly, well spoken, customer service oriented Medical Assistant that is able to multi-task and work in a busy office environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Educates patients about pre-op and post-op care, including providing information and quotation details for postcare healing bundles
• Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure HIPPA compliance at all times while maintaining PHI Disclosure records.
• Ability to use electronic tracking tools and databases.
• Assists as required with pre-operative and post-operative visits.
• Maintains a professional relationship with each patient and understands the importance of setting proper limits and expectations for anticipated results.
• May review paperwork prior to procedure to ensure current history & physical, current medication history and other required elements are present.
• Demonstrates proficiency in clinic related duties including: pre-procedure, intra-procedure, post procedure and follow up.

• This role requires using the telephone, computer and other related instruments or devices while communicating with patients, caregivers, physicians and staff
• Specific vision and hearing abilities required by this job include both vision and hearing acuity
• Standing and walking for periods of time
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds

Qualifications/Skills

• Maintain compliance with all requirements for Medical Assistant Certification
• High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); or
• One year related customer service experience or training preferably in a medical office
• Equivalent combination of education and experience
• BLS Certification
