Cicero Therapies family of business is hiring a Medical Billing Specialist in Birmingham, AL.

As a Medical Billing Specialist, you will be working closely with the billing staff to ensure that claims are processed and billing procedures are followed up on. You will be creating invoices based on patient services and properly processing claims to ensure they are clean. This position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills with our internal department as well as patient families.

Key Responsibilities:

• Submit and refile insurance claims properly
• Work claim rejections, denials, and corrections thoroughly
• Post insurance payments accurately and timely
• Professionally communicate with the extended family of teams at the practices
• Send patient statements monthly
• Post patient payments accurately and timely (if applicable)
• Negotiate payment arrangements when needed
• Ensure patients are billed correctly for services
• Correctly process invoices to ensure they are clean
• Process remittance and denials, following up with patients when required

Job Qualifications:

• Highschool diploma or GED equivalent required, Associate's Degree preferred
• 1 year of insurance verification experience required
• 1 year of medical billing experience required
• 1 year of ICD-10 experience preferred
• Prior EMR experience preferred
