Position Summary:

Responsible for performing various clinical laboratory tests in one or more sections of the laboratory using automated equipment, manual testing and microscopic analysis to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease. Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span, possesses the ability to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her specific needs, and provides the care needed as described in the unit's policies and procedures check lists. Must be able to respect diversity of each person’s values, culture, spiritual beliefs, and other socio-economic issues in addressing the needs of patients, visitors, and co-workers.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree Required BA in Medical Technology, Chemistry, or Biology
• Must show transcripts or degree both for high school and college.
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 60 days of hire
• Licenses: ASCP Certified Preferred or BA in Medical Technology, Chemistry, or Biology
