Purpose of Job
This position is responsible for working directly with a provider to transcribe information into the electronic health record in real time during an OB/GYN clinic visit.
Job Functions
- Prepares and assembles medical record documentation/charts for physician
- . Enters the patient room with the physician during the patient visit to capture and transcribe medical record documentation utilizing the electronic medical record.
- . Updates patient history, physical exam, and other pertinent health information in the patient chart
- Prepares and sends all documentation to physician for review
- Performs other clerical duties and task to improve provider productivity and clinic workflow as assigned
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Education/Work Experience
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Medical Terminology
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous Scribe or transcription experience
- Medical Assistant or LPN
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations effectively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to expertly document patient care and transcribe patient appointments
- Assure the accuracy of all documentation and records
- Ability to meet and maintain the necessary background checks as aligned with position functions
- Ability to communicate in English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above
