Job Description: The Program Coordinator works collaboratively with BHRN Directors and Managers to implement program objectives. Supports the onboarding process of new peer support specialists specifically as it pertains to Recovery Link, BHRN Screening tool, JotForm, Mirrorly Network mapping tool. Helps coordinates the flow of referrals for applicable internal and external BHRN programs and services. Assists Directors and Managers to ensure BHRN activities are in agreement with grant requirements. Works intermittently as a peer support specialist as needed.
Requirements: As a Peer-Delivered Services organization, MHAAO has implemented a mandatory vaccination policy that requires all employees, interns, and volunteers to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 as a condition of employment in accordance with current Oregon and Washington State laws. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Engaging in community outreach to offer service coordination, including low-barrier referral pathways
- Acts as a collaborative liaison across multiple organizations, including prioritizing community members most impacted by structural racism and chronic barriers to services/care.
- Supports the onboarding process of new peer support specialists specifically as it pertains to Recovery Link, BHRN Screening tool, JotForm and Mirrorly Network mapping tool
- Working knowledge of excel and comfortable with data base systems
- Maintain BHRN Coordinator Drobox folder and answer inquiries about Peer Support programs and referrals.
- Attend weekly BHRN partner meeting virtually
- Answers and returns phone calls and/or reaches out to providers inside and outside the BHRN(s) to determine availability for service, service type, and support planning around the wants/needs expressed by the individual(s).
- Keeps record of referrals, service inquiries, wait-times, and service connections within electronic health record system within data base.
- Engages in weekly Service Navigator meetings with community partners to identify available resources, review priority situations, reduce barriers, and provide rapid access to referrals for community members.
- Collaborates with leadership team on administrative process improvement, service navigation trends, and data collection and compiling data.
- Adheres to all HIPAA and/or other privacy guidelines and regulations.
- Abides by organization policies and procedures.
- Provide onboarding support and modeling to other PSS’s and managers when assigned by BHRN Director.
- Stay updated/current on emergent and existing community resources available to PSS’s.
- Assist other BHRN and MHAAO programs with the coordination and implementation of efforts, as requested.
- Communicate with all staff and supervisor in a timely fashion.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications for Position: Identifies as having lived experience of addiction and mental health challenges. Understands the effect of trauma on health, coping, and other aspects of individual needs. Understands the principles of recovery, consumer-involvement and trauma-informed care.
Three to five years as a Peer Support Specialist/Certified Recovery Mentor or related experience and/or training: or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have Peer Support Specialist/Certified Recovery Mentor Certification active.
Personal Qualities: The ideal candidate for this position is passionate about and committed to the MHAAO mission. Must be a good communicator and sensitive to various communication and learning styles. Is comfortable with the shared duties and daily prioritization shifts inherent to a small non-profit environment. Must have lived experience of mental health and addiction recovery. Possesses an absolute belief in every peer’s ability to learn, grow and recover. Possesses insight pertaining to personal biases and worldview and how they may interfere with effectively working with individuals representing a variety of cultural, ethnic, language and life experiences.
