MN Pets Euthanasia Veterinarian
Job description
MN Pets Euthanasia Veterinarian
About MN Pets
Founded in 2010, MN Pets is an in-home euthanasia practice serving the Twin Cities. MN Pets was born from a mission to serve our community of pet families, and our mission has grown to include a dedication to providing a compassionate, appreciative, and supportive team. We are humans first and veterinary professionals second, and we believe in creating careers that feed our souls. We are passionate about rethinking the norms in vet med and paving our own way.
What makes this work different
This role is ideal for someone looking for a change of pace. Our appointments provide time for doctors and clients to slow down, connect, and take time in saying goodbye. With a focus on client and patient care, there is minimal record keeping and administrative work. Our doctors are supported by a highly trained and specialized support team who handle screening, scheduling, and all client communication before and after the visit.
We provide extensive training on our unique home euthanasia process and provide all supplies needed. We look for veterinarians who are compassionate, independent, and motivated to make a difference. Veterinarians in any stage of their career - from new graduates to retirees - find that this work is fulfilling and rewarding, while still bringing new opportunities for learning and growth. We strive to have an inclusive team with diverse perspectives, and we strongly encourage people who are not widely represented in the veterinary field to apply.
Our doctors enjoy working independently with ample time between visits to travel between homes and recharge, while still remaining highly connected remotely with our support team, fellow doctors, and management. Our doctors are also supported by the Aftercare Team, who assist as needed for pet transportation and lifting.
Responsibilities:
- You will drive to client homes and provide compassionate in-home euthanasia visits and quality of life consultations
- You will work closely with our Support Staff and Aftercare Specialists, maintaining an awareness of your appointment schedule and responding to changes
- You will respectfully transport pets for cremation
- You will maintain electronic medical records and controlled substance logs for your visits
- You will attend occasional team meetings, either in person or virtual, to collaborate with fellow doctors and engage with a supportive team
Compensation & Benefits:
- There is a base salary for 4-visit-shift availability (whether visits fill or not), with the opportunity to add additional visits and shifts if desired. Base salary is commensurate with shifts per week and is reviewed annually. There are additional opportunities to add visits and shifts for additional compensation. We value full compensation transparency and would be happy to provide details compensation upon request for all interested candidates.
- In addition to base salary, doctors receive vehicle reimbursement ($.655/mi) for all miles driven during shift. You can start and end your workday directly at home, not at an office.
- Position is full-time (2.5-4 days/week) or part-time (1.5-2.5 days/week). Shifts are generally 8-10 hours, depending on visit locations.
- Associate veterinarians are asked to work one weekend (Sat/Sun) shift and one evening shift (last visit at 6pm) in each two-week period.
- Comprehensive benefit eligibility for both part-time and full-time veterinarians, which includes AVMA and VIN membership, annual CE stipends, PTO, 401k and company match, state license, DEA license, PLIT, AAA vehicle coverage, car wash passes, and more
- Medical, dental and vision coverage available for veterinarians working 2.5 shifts per week or more
- MN Pets has a commitment to provide ongoing training and supervision, professional development, and opportunities for advancement
