Harrison Western was founded in 1968 and has provided superior design and construction services to the mining and civil industries for nearly 50 years. Additionally, Underground Infrastructure Technologies, LLC (UIT), a division of Harrison Western, is a full-service utility contractor specializing in trenchless technologies. UIT performs wet and dry utility installations utilizing both trenchless technologies and open cut excavation to complete projects, large or small, in multiple geographic markets. Headquartered in Lakewood, Colorado, we have completed thousands of mining and construction development projects that range geographically from Arizona to New York.
We are currently looking for a traveling Mobile Field Mechanic to join our team. The position will be based in our Colorado office. The Mobile Field Mechanic travels to jobsites and maintains, troubleshoots, repairs and equipment that our crews use to perform work on jobsites. The equipment is often specialty including drills, bore machines, mine vehicles and others. Jobsites are often remote and pose an additional challenge.

Primary duties and responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot, diagnose and perform repairs on excavators, drills, muckers, pumps and other mining and construction equipment. Repairs and maintenance would include work on engines, transmissions, chassis, drivelines and body components, hydraulic, pneumatic, bake, electrical and suspension systems, wheels, tires, undercarriages, etc.
- Fabrication and light machining
- Operate tools, equipment and machinery according to prescribed safety features
- Ensure shop, equipment and tools are in safe operating condition
- Follow and adhere to Harrison Western safety procedures and techniques
Required skills:
- 5+ years of mining and/or construction equipment maintenance experience required
- Ability to travel frequently and stay at jobsite locations as needed
- Flexibility of schedule and the ability to travel with limited notice required
- Personal Tool set for use in the shop, tools on mechanic’s truck provided
- Mining and/or construction experience
- Ability to take direction from leadership
- Ability to recognize safety risks and hazards
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds
- Work in standing, seated or other physical positions
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record
Preferred skills:
- 4G certified welder
- CDL (Class A or B) preferred.
- Diversified experience
Compensation and Benefits:
- $35.00-$45.00/hr DOE
