Middle/High School Math Teacher
Salary: NC Teacher Salary Scale
Reports to: Principal
Licensure: Individual must hold a current North Carolina Professional Educators license for his/her area of assignment.
Job Summary
Lakeside Charter Academy is searching for a dedicated and experienced math teacher to join our team. As a math teacher, you will be required to deliver lessons to middle school students 6th-8th and high school 9th graders that develop students’ theoretical and applied mathematical skills. To be successful as a math teacher, you should possess a thorough understanding of effective teaching practices. Our ideal candidate will be able to create a stimulating learning environment that is sensitive to the students’ psychosocial needs.
Responsibilities
· Planning and presenting lessons to facilitate students’ understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
· Prepare lessons that reflect accommodation for individual student’s differences.
· Use technologies in the teaching/learning process.
· Encourages students to think independently and to express original ideas.
· Present a positive role model for students that supports LCA’s Pillars of Education.
· Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to provide an orderly, productive classroom environment.
· Identifies student needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students solve learning, health and attitude problems.
· Ensure a sustainable relationship with parents, school personnel and members of the public.
· Participates in staff committees and the sponsorship of student activities.
· Models nondiscriminatory practices in all activities.
· Any other assignment deemed appropriate by administration
Qualifications
· Minimum Bachelor’s degree from an approved education program in subject areas
· NC Teaching License or have qualifications to obtain a NC teaching License
· Pass Criminal Background Check
· Commitment to go above and beyond when necessary to reach goals
· Strong planning, execution and problem solving skills
