This position will split time between our Primary Care clinic in Weston and our clinic in Buckhannon, WV.

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) shall provide comprehensive management of patients within his/her specialty and according to privileges approved by the Medical Staff Office. The NP has responsibility, authority and accountability for the provision of care through supervision by and collaboration with a physician. The NP manages and provides patient care activities for a group of patients and their families through the application of independent judgement, communication and collaboration with all team members. The NP establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with physicians, other health care providers, patients and their families, to achieve desired patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care. The NP shall work under the supervision of a physician.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduate of a master’s prepared Nurse Practitioner program.

Experience: Previous experience in a clinical setting is preferred.

Licensure: Current license as a Nurse Practitioner from the West Virginia Board of Nursing. Certification by the American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). Must be credentialed according to Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Medical Staff By-laws and appointed as Allied Health Professional Affiliate Staff. Must possess or obtain basic life support (BLS) certification within the probationary period and maintain certification. Must possess or obtain advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) within one year of employment start and maintain certification.

Heavy Work; Exerting up to 100lbs of force occasionally and/or up to 50lbs of force frequently and/or in excess of 20lbs of force constantly.
