Job Summary
This position works under general supervision to perform administrative tasks requiring knowledge of general office and departmental policies and procedures and the ability to operate a variety of office equipment.Duties & Responsibilities
- Arrange internal and external meetings and appointments for faculty supervisors by scheduling times, reserving rooms, and coordinating activities, using sound judgment concerning priorities and time limits.
- Make travel arrangements, which generally involves airline and hotel reservations as well as transportation to and from destinations.
- Work with the Department Business Office on requests for purchasing, travel reimbursement, and other departmental functions related to University requirements.
- Handle various arrangement details when an assigned faculty member is host for a departmental visitor.
- Serve as back-up during the absence of other faculty support staff members.
- Maintain an electronic file of the faculty biographical data forms.
- Gather, request, or provide factual information requiring reference to a variety of sources such as explaining procedures, schedules, or gathering product information. including verbal and written activities.
- Perform additional appropriate duties to further the mission of the department.

Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Any one or combination totaling eighteen (18) months from the categories below:
- College coursework in any curriculum as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
- 30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
- Associate’s Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months)
- Work experience performing office/clerical activities, including the use of computer systems.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Computer literacy; strong written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated attention to detail; ability to understand and apply department and university policies and procedures.
Appointment Information
This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 0846 - Office Support Associate position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after 4/7/2023. Salary is commensurate with experience.
