Envision Plastics, a division of Altium Packaging, which manufactures differentiated post-consumer recycled polyolefin plastics used in a wide range of consumer products is seeking a Director of Operations. This high-profile position with direct impact on the profitability of Envision Plastics has overall responsibility for leading Envision’s manufacturing operations in Reidsville, North Carolina, and Chino, California and for driving and cultivating a safety and operations excellence culture in alignment with Altium’s Production System (APS). The position will report to the Envision division leader and be based at our Reidsville, North Carolina manufacturing facility (located just north of the growing Greensboro, Winston-Salem, and High Point Triad metro area).

Responsibilities:

  • Champion a safety culture by cultivating safe behaviors and ensuring a safe work environment

  • Foster a culture that reflects Altium’s Guiding Principles to attract and retain qualified talent

  • Model the application of the Guiding Principles to drive a high degree of employee engagement and talent retention

  • Champion an operations excellence culture utilizing the lean manufacturing / TPM principles embedded in APS

  • Lead and support plant teams to drive reliability, product quality, on-time delivery, and efficiencies while minimizing waste

  • Create value through the timely execution of production schedules to meet company and customer requirements

  • Provide guidelines to ensure timely repair and efficient predictive and preventive maintenance of all plant assets

  • Maintain procedures for accurate inventory of finished goods, raw materials, and work in process

  • Ensure plant leaders take action to resolve plant manufacturing inefficiencies

  • Monitor facilities for compliance with GMP standards and maintain plant in compliance with corporate quality requirements

  • Routinely review processes to ensure cost-effectiveness of operations

  • Set and meet goals to improve manufacturing metrics and results

  • Create a customer focus culture and take prompt efficient steps to assure customer satisfaction

  • Engage customers and ensure they are driving force behind business decisions

  • Coordinate activities to prepare and meet annual business plan requirements

  • Collaborate with and leverage BU and enterprise resources to commercialize new business within budget and specification

  • Continually assess plant leaders’ knowledge, skills, and strengths and provide timely feedback and coaching on performance

  • Build a winning team through strategic talent selection and development

  • Collaborate and interact with sales and supply leaders and other support personnel as needed

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Management or Engineering is preferred

  • 10+ years of experience working in plant leadership roles including responsibility for multiple manufacturing sites in a lean manufacturing / TPM environment

  • Experience with:

    • Building and leading teams and driving organizational culture

    • Strategic analysis and development and successful execution of business plans

    • Developing and managing capex plans

    • Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems

    • Customer relationships

    • Employee development, performance management, and conflict resolution

  • Strong communications skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools

  • Travel up to up to 30% of time

Preferred:

  • Polyolefins recycling operations or polyolefins extrusion experience

  • Growth capital projects leadership or management experience

  • Master’s degree or higher
