Reed Eye Care in Fairview Heights, IL is looking for one optometrist to join our strong team. We are located on 10900 Lincoln Trail. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, punctual, and hard-working.

Responsibilities

*Practice full-scope medical optometry in a caring and patient centered setting. *Documentation using Electronic Health Record, including chief complaint, relevant symptoms, ocular health history, medications, medical and family history, current vision correction, and any other pertinent data. *Examine eyes following medical standards of care using pharmaceutical agents and instruments to determine visual acuity, perception, coordination and focus. Tests may include digital refractions, retinoscopy, lensometry, slit lamp examination, visual fields, OCT, topography, pupil, mobility testing, gonioscopy, dry eye testing and any other appropriate to encounter diagnostic testing necessary. *Based on exam, diagnose diseases and treat to full extent of optometric standards of care. Coordinate referrals to surgical specialists appropriately. *Clearly document diagnosis and treatment plan, including referrals, therapeutic prescriptions and long-term medical management, in patients’ charts *Prescribe and fit contact lenses and prescribe eyeglasses *Provide pre- and post-operative care for cataract, LASIK, and other ocular surgeries *Maintain communication with ophthalmology, primary care providers, and support staff in order to optimize quality clinical care and service *Provide low-vision rehabilitation and vision therapy to improve visual issues at Optometrist's discretion
