OR Transporter - FT
Job description
Position Overview:
Under direct supervision the OR Supervisor, the OR Transporter will be responsible for cleaning OR suites between cases and perform terminal cleaning (when necessary) during regular business hours and during 'on-call' hours. Transportation of patients throughout the hospital when requested to do so. Maintains a clean environment throughout the perioperative setting, including moving and cleaning equipment. Assist surgical team by pulling cases and other duties as assigned. Functions as a member of the perioperative team who has knowledge, skills and training to work in an operating room environment. This position will report to the Director of Surgical Services.
Essential Functions:
Promotes the philosophy and mission of Montrose Regional Health.
Clean OR suites between cases.
Terminal cleaning of OR suites when necessary
Stocking of supplies in all areas of Surgical Services as need
Maintain Anesthesia Carts and Block Room. Anesthesia machines, anesthesia carts and block room to be cleaned after each patient. Change circuit between patients. Assure adequate stocking of anesthesia carts daily.
Support GI suite and Bronchoscopy room with anesthesia cart supplies, cleaning as necessary.
Moving and cleaning equipment.
Re-stock unused supplies after cases.
Pulling case carts.
Transportation of patients when needed.
Organizing sterile core
Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education: High school graduate or GED preferred.
Training and Experience: Minimum of one year experience in a hospital setting preferred.
Job Knowledge: Must be willing to learn and gain familiarity with medical terminology and sterile field recognition. Knowledge of cleaning in the perioperative setting.
Ability to effectively communicate, verbally, and non-verbally, in a clear, concise manner.
Administrative and philosophical compatibility with Montrose Regional Health.
Interpersonal skills and sound judgment necessary to communicate with a wide variety of persons including patients.
The ability to make appropriate decisions based on fact and knowledge is required. The ability to perform detailed work required. The ability to work harmoniously with employees required. Must demonstrate the ability to maintain confidentiality and show good judgment. The ability to make decisions under pressure and deadlines required.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
Ability to lift twenty (20) pounds. Moving, lifting or transferring of patients may involve lifting of up to fifty (50) pounds, as well as assist with weights of more than one-hundred (100) pounds.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to sit and use hands along with fingers, to handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
