Job Summary
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for visually inspecting terminally sterilized, filled product off the filling line following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and current Good Manufacturing Processes (cGMP). The visual inspector will work in the Inspection/Packaging Department and on the in-line semi-automated inspection area and therefore must be knowledgeable of procedures and equipment in each area.
Responsibilities
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES PERFORMED BY THE INCUMBENT.
  • Visually inspects final container product for various defects.
  • Documents work accurately and timely.
  • Complies with current SOP’s and cGMP’s.
  • Set-up, adjusts, and operates equipment such as inspection machines, pressure testing, etc..
  • Performs and documents critical start-up procedures such as line clearances, component verification, equipment challenges, etc.
  • Performs and documents quality checks on product.
  • Calculates percent defective on inspection results and reconciles components on batch record.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for complying with all training.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work environment and strives to meet daily goals
  • Assures a safe working environment and always wears appropriate safety equipment/apparel as well as alerting the supervisor to unsafe conditions in the department.
REQUIREMENTS
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • At least one (1) year pharmaceutical experience preferred.
  • Basic math skills to perform required calculations (multiplication/division).
  • Visual ability to detect defective final container units.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Must maintain acceptable visual acuity.
  • Must be able to maintain visual inspection qualification requirements.
