Position Summary
The essence of the Paint Prep Technician’s role is to prepare all pieces and products for paint, while keeping a high-quality standard
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepares products by doing light bodywork, sanding, blocking, filing and priming
- Assists Lead Painter in preparing products for paint
- Places products for painting on movable platforms
- Moves and stages painted products in drying room
- Responsible for overseeing paint and prep material inventory
- Keeps work area clean and organized
- Communicate ideas and issues in a timely manner.
- Ensure high quality standards.
- Work in a team orientated manner.
- Inspect refurbished materials, assess conditions, and make recommendations for future improvements.
Attributes
- Able to prepare products for paint application.
- Able to stand and prep all parts for extended times throughout the shift.
- Able to sand and finish product before painting.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in auto body paint preparation is preferred.
- High School Degree or GED required.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Experienced with hand tools and sanding devices.
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
