Job Summary

For the Transactional Unit, provides technical assistance to attorneys and compiles data and information to create contracts in Oracle ERP. Serves as the liaison between the Office of General Counsel and other District offices to support the creation of contracts. Distinguishes from the entry-level class in the series by the greater complexity of assignments and the wider latitude and discretion accorded incumbents in this position

Essential Functions

  • Provides assistance to staff attorneys; performs factual research of specific issues; gathers, reviews and analyzes information for relevancy, accuracy and completeness.

  • Compiles data to create contracts in Oracle and works with staff in various departments to obtain additional information and resolve issues.

  • Tracks the status of contracts; maintains communication with designated staff in the program office and provides support as needed; serves as a resource to program offices to facilitate the creation of contracts.

  • Maintains files of active and completed contracts.

  • Performs related work as required to support other units within the Office of General Counsel.


Qualifications


Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Completion of an accredited paralegal/legal assistant training program.

  • Four years of paralegal experience providing technical assistance to attorneys which has included the analysis of information, the preparation of legal documents and the performance of related research.

OR

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

  • One year of paralegal experience providing technical assistance to attorneys which has included the analysis of information, the preparation of legal documents and the performance of related research.

OR

  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience determined to be acceptable by the Office of Talent.

  • All work experience related to the position must be included on the resume

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Demonstrated knowledge of:

  • the English language and spelling.
