Greenleaf Family Center is seeking a full-time peer Parent Advocate who will work directly with the Summit County Juvenile Court’s Multidisciplinary Representation Team (MRT).

Parent Advocates provide supportive services to parents who are involved with the Court due to potential neglect or dependency issues and are working toward reunification with their child/children.

Parent Advocates:

Educate parents regarding court processes, the SCCS system, and other related systems

Empower parents to communicate and navigate systems effectively

Provide information about supportive resources

Support, encourage, and motivate parents as they move toward reunification

Parent Advocates have a personal lived experience with these systems so are in a unique position to support parents through this process as a peer. Therefore, Greenleaf is seeking a parent for this position who has successfully navigated a personal experience with the child protective services and juvenile court systems.

The position will be a Full-time position, 37.5 hours per week, which includes benefits. The pay rate for the position is $16.00 to $16.50/hour based upon experience.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Lived experience as a parent of a child involved with the Dependency Court.

2. High School Diploma or GED

3. Bachelor’s degree in human services, sociology, psychology preferred but exception may be made for individual demonstrating significant experience and knowledge of parent advocacy services and related systems of care.

4. Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, adequate insurance, and insurability per agency requirements.
