As a part-time Medical Assistant, you provide clinical expertise to ensure all patients receive high quality, efficient care, in addition to, direct patient communication, critical thinking, problem solving, while working directly with Providers in the clinical setting. Must be flexible! Office hours include but are not limited to: Mondays: 7:30am-6:30pm / Tuesdays: 7:30am-6:30pm / Wednesdays: 10am-7pm / Fridays: 7:30am-2:30pm.
We are looking for a detailed-oriented, proactive, initiative-taking individual with a passion for healthcare. Medical assisting or scribing experience is preferred. You will:

  • Assist Providers with patient office visits: rooming patients, collecting, and presenting HPIs (history of presenting illness), enter pertinent medical history, update medications, obtain consents, print relevant handouts, provide quotes, record vital signs (e.g., pulse rate, blood pressure, height, and weight).
  • Be able to work within our Electronic Medical Record (EMR & EMN) software networks, to find patient history, pathology, and other document retrieval.
  • Prepare and review patient chart prior to patient’s appointment. Review charts for completeness ensuring all required information is included; note any deficiencies and utilize all resources internal as well as external to correct.
  • Organize exam rooms, including general cleaning, upkeep, and restocking of supplies.
  • Initiate and complete biologic prior authorizations.
  • Set up procedure trays (e.g., shave, punch, EE, Botox, and fillers).
  • Provide basic care instructions for post biopsy and wound care.
  • Perform administrative tasks, including form completions, prescription refills, referrals, and patient educational materials.
  • Initiate and complete prescription administration; be responsible for medication management and extensive patient counseling including skincare regiment(s).
  • Assist in the ordering, receiving, and stocking of office supplies.
  • Assist Providers with patient office visits which includes scribing for basic office visits efficiently (e.g., warts, molluscum, acne, and basic TBSE).
  • Set up and assist Providers with biopsies, Botox, Fillers, and other procedures as directed by the Provider.
  • Be able to remove sutures and changing of dressings.
  • Manage autoclave and cleaning instruments.
  • Assist Providers with patient office visits which includes scribing for complex visits including Botox, Filler, Cosmetic Consults, Laser, and MOHs surgery.
  • Anticipate patient and physician needs, proactively preparing as appropriate.
  • Set up and assist Providers with complex procedures.
  • Be able to draw blood.
  • Execute other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications -

  • 1+ years of experience in a medical office or other healthcare setting
  • Previous experience as a Medical Assistant
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Have prior experience using autoclave and cleaning of instruments.
  • Possess critical thinking skills, flexibility, and a positive attitude.
  • Have proven ability to use tact and professionalism to handle time-sensitive information and personal interactions.
  • Able to meet patients and others needs while following office policies and procedures.
  • Have knowledge of medical terminology, medical office safety, and medical office equipment uses and maintenance.
  • Able to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
  • Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Have strong organizational skills.
  • Are friendly, cheerful, and helpful to patients and others.
  • Able to travel to other clinical office as needed.
