JOB DESCRIPTION:

SUMMARY: This position is responsible for planning and preparing food or product for product demonstration. This position involves heavy customer interaction.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure that each customer receives outstanding service by providing a customer friendly environment which includes greeting and acknowledging every customer, maintaining outstanding standards, solid product knowledge and all other components of customer service.
• Help educate customers about our products and our store philosophy.
• Assist in the effort to clean, and perform general housekeeping duties throughout our store in compliance with our White Glove program.
• Inform every customer of our loyalty program, in-store classes and events, customer rewards program (remember to ask customer if they have a rewards card at checkout).
• Prepares and styles food for product demonstration.
• Maintaining strict adherence to health department guidelines and company cleanliness policies.
• Fill out all necessary paperwork for each demo, carefully tracking product samples, products sold, and customer feedback.
• Set up your demo station in coordination with other demo staff to ensure the following are covered for your food demo: product to be sampled is prepared; extra product for sale is available at the station; all necessary equipment and supplies are at the station.
• Maintain stock of product and supplies in coordination with demo staff throughout daily demos.
• Dispose of leftover product at end of shift according to company policy.
• Clean up all product, supplies, etc. at ten of shift according to demo procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: This position does not have any supervisory duties.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: This job operates in a retail environment with merchandise displays and items available for purchase in inventory.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds without assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK: This position is part time. Standard days and hours are Monday through Saturday, typically between the hours of 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. This position may require working evening, weekend and holiday hours. This position has the potential to pick up extra hours in the store to fill in as needed.

EXPECTATIONS: All demo associates will be required to meet a minimum standard of sales for their departments.

TRAVEL: Local travel may be required.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: A high school diploma or GED and at least 1 years of grocery and/retail experience desired. Knowledge of natural and organic foods preferred. A Food Handler’s Card may be required to be obtained within 30 days of employment.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurements, volume, and distance.

COMPUTER SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, an employee should have a working knowledge of Microsoft office and internet usage. POS knowledge highly desirable.
