Based in community settings, and working closely with our administrative team to support therapeutic and behavioral plans, our team and subcontractors provide assistance and strategies to the individuals we serve to live as independently as possible. New to the field? Not a problem! We have everything you need to work independently, including options for required certifications, and guidance on how to build your clientele in the industry.

So, what do we do?? Direct Care Staff have the following responsibilities:

• Work with individuals on developmental goals and coach or mentor them on social and life skills
• Assist with daily living skills including meal preparation and assist with medication administration
• Provide guidance on a range of developmental goals from community participation, household budgeting, exercise, nutrition, and supporting vocational responsibilities
• Transportation and support out in the community: outings/field trips, medical appointments, and shopping
• Support persons served with living skills such as personal hygiene, grooming, and/or bathing
• Assist individuals we serve to redirect agitated or potentially aggressive behaviors (not all cases)

What qualifies me to serve the clients? Care Professionals should have the following qualifications:

• Documented experience working with developmentally disabled (pediatrics and/or adults)
• Familiarity with basic nutrition and personal hygiene standards
• Proficiency in English (bilingual a plus)
• Caring and compassionate personality
• CPR/First Aid training
• Valid driver’s license with active insurance and registration
• Authorized to work in the U.S.
• High school education or higher (diploma/GED/transcript or equivalent required)
• A reliable, responsible attitude and a compassionate approach and a commitment to quality in everything you do
• A heart for serving those in need of care
• Availability/Flexibility to service our clientele

Am I eligible for a retention bonus as a contractor? Absolutely! The state of Florida has approved our agency for funding for home and community based services to support the hiring of 1099 contractors to assist in serving our clients with developmental disabilities. Our subcontractors earn $3.75-$4 per mTu qtr unit they bill (equivalent to $15 hour) and a retention bonus for all new contracted staff! (Contractors must bid for the retention payment).
