A pest control technician is responsible for providing pest remediation and prevention solutions to residential and commercial property owners. The duties of pest control techs include conducting inspections for insects and vermin and advising on and implementing effective treatment plans to remedy infestations.

A qualified pest control technician should be confident in their ability to handle multiple duties and responsibilities on any given workday. The primary responsibility of a pest control technician is to detect and eliminate unwelcome pests from homes and businesses. Some specific pest control technician duties include:

• Conducting thorough interior and exterior inspections to locate dangerous pests

• Offering sound advice on both chemical and natural pest control remediation options

• Providing estimates for one-time treatments and continual maintenance

• Setting traps for rodents

• Spraying perimeters of homes and structures for termites, ants, and other insects

• Safe and efficient removal of wasp, hornet, and bees nests

• Laying down bait pellets to eliminate rats and mice

• Covering holes with foam, mesh, and wood to hinder rodent entry

• Recommending products and services for effective pest control

Other duties are scheduling and maintaining your own route, handling callbacks, customer service, and sales.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $39,949.00 - $41,862.00 per year
