Position Summary:

The Specialty Pharmacy Compliance Specialist ensures specialty pharmacy practices are in conformity with all regulatory requirements, including but not limited to HIPAA, URAC, ACHC, and Fraud, Waste, and Abuse. Performs data extraction and analytics to validate compliance and to drive business decisions. Knowledgeable of specialty pharmacy regulatory requirements outlined in the compliance program. Actively involved in quality improvement and quality control initiatives. Implements prompt corrective action to correct compliance issues. Collaborates with other members of the pharmacy team on all aspects of pharmacy operations. This includes a review of the organization to see if any changes have regulatory impact, scheduled periodic update of all training, and communication regarding compliance. Performs routine prescription processing duties as needed and under the proper supervision including prior authorization, data entry, insurance billing, prescription filling, and dispensing. Communicates with patients and other medical professionals as necessary. Trains members of pharmacy team on issues and tasks relevant to specialty compliance.
