Interplastic Corporation is a specialty chemical company with headquarters in St. Paul, Minnesota. The company focuses on the production and distribution of unsaturated polyester and vinyl ester resins, gel coats, and colorants for the composites and cast polymer industries.

The Plant Manager is responsible for the planning, direction, management, and control of all manufacturing operations on the site. It also involves managing and directing all manufacturing functions in accordance with Company policies and procedures to continuously improve in the areas of safety, profitability, quality, customer satisfaction, and employee morale

Essential Functions:

• Commit to plant safety, environmental and health procedures
• Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed our customers’ expectations
• Increase production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards
• Be responsible for product quality and on-time shipping
• Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results
• Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide clear direction to direct reports.
• Monitor operations and trigger preventative corrective actions
• Share a trusting relationship with workgroup and recruit, manage and develop plant staff
• Develop systems and processes that track, optimize productivity, standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets
• Stay up to date with latest production management best practices and concepts
• Communicate to senior management process deviations that affect the business.

Qualifications:

• BS degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 5+ years of experience as a plant manager in chemical manufacturing.
• Adequate knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources)
• Familiarity with ISO Quality Management and process automation
• Be knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, inventory and stewardship processes
• Computer literacy – MS Office
• Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills
