Power Plant Shift Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Shift Supervisor is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the facility. Responsible for directing and supervising the Operations Department and other plant personnel, ensuring safety, maintenance and efficiency.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Delineate and enforce the safety and environmental procedures and policies for the Operations Department and other support teams.
• Closely monitor the production and maintenance activities of the facility and assist in planning and executing both scheduled and unscheduled outage work as well as the timely completion of operating duties.
• Troubleshoot equipment and assist in diagnosing problems
• Confer with representatives from other departments in solving interrelated administrative, organizational, and technical problems.
• Approve requests for removing equipment from service for maintenance or other purposes
• Ensuring equipment is properly tagged and cleared in accordance with plant procedures.

REQUIREMENTS

• Five years in a Supervisory position in a power plant environment.
• General knowledge of Power Plant equipment and materials, operating procedure and standards to properly maintain and enforce cost effective, safe and efficient Facility Operations.
• Strong leadership, oral and written communication and problem solving/decision making skills are a must.
• As a leadership role, this person must be able to direct the team through mentoring and coaching to develop excellence in the operation of a Waste to Energy facility

Physical Demands include but not limited to:

• Work rotating shifts
• Handle tools, equipment
• Access confined spaces and pressure vessels through standard 12" by 16" manways
• Frequent standing, walking, crouching, crawling and kneeling
• Climb and walk on heights often greater than 4 feet
• Work in moderate temperature extremes (hot or cold), work in confined spaces, work at elevations and wear a full-face respirator
• Operate fire extinguishing equipment ranging from handheld extinguishers to 200 lbs. portable units
• Overtime may be necessary

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $120,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
