Position Summary
- Works safely in all aspects of the job, including in the office and any site location
- Participates in the design of a process unit, including establishing process design basis, development of process options and optimization of selected design
- Calculates and organizes data for process flow sheets (PFD's & P&ID's) including instrumentation and control considerations
- Modeling of refining, renewables, and carbon capture processes and unit operations
- Prepares specifications and operating parameters for process equipment including distillation columns, pressure vessels, pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, and fired heaters
- Develops process flow diagrams (PFD's) and heat and material balance to define project scope
- Prepares sizing calculations for pressure relieving devices for system over pressure protection
- Performs hydraulic calculations for fluid and vapor circuits
- Maintains effective communication with project team members and is able to effectively communicate complex technical solutions to other engineers and non-engineers.
- Assists with training/coaching of other engineers by providing instruction on new technologies and or a specialization.
- As the highest level Engineer position, is looked to for technical expertise and support
- Ensures effective management of change and assumes responsibility for cost, schedule, and quantity control.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in refining, renewables, and carbon capture including process simulation (e.g. HYSYS, ProMax, Petro-Sim, etc.) required
- BS in Chemical Engineering minimum
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are required
- MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) preferred
