Job description
- Gain an understanding of the outcomes being pursued and how team(s) are building solutions to meet those outcomes and meet customer needs. Grow technology acumen to help better provide product guidance to execution teams.
- Responsible for backlog refinement and preparation of planned releases which includes backlog grooming, prioritizing the teams backlog, and ensuring the backlog represents priorities of the business are adequately represented. Assists in preparing work for sprint planning. During the planning meeting, acts as a source for user story detail and priorities.
- Break down stories to enable small, frequent iterations versus big bang deliveries. Keep lines of communication open with stakeholders so their needs are represented, and they understand what is being delivered along the way.
- Build relationships and a network of partners in various areas and use resources, in addition to own knowledge and experience to understand the stakeholder/customer. Tightly partner with team to solve problems and create solutions.
- Challenge status quo, encourage innovation, be open-minded and approachable. Collaborate well with all partners. Gather feedback from customers on delivered work and share with the team.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 4+ years of related experience preferably as a Product Owner or Business Analyst
- Excellent communication skills required including the ability to influence and negotiate
- Solid strategic thinking, collaboration and decision making skills required
- Experience working in an Agile environment and familiarity with Scrum methodologies and practice
