Haakon Industries in headquartered in Richmond, BC Canada and currently has 3 manufacturing facilities; one in Kingston, ON, Canada and one in Cheney, WA, USA and our newest facility in Candler, NC, USA which opened in September of 2021.
We are looking for production engineers to be a part of the team to start up and manage our newest facility.
The ideal candidate possesses strong mechanical and manufacturing aptitude and problem solving skills, along with well developed interpersonal skills, both written and verbal. Working as a Production Engineer it is important that you are capable of effectively managing changing priorities, are self motivated and thrive in an extremely fast paced environment. You must understand lean manufacturing principals, have a high level of mechanical aptitude, be a strong proponent of continuous change and enjoy spending time on the production floor. The chosen candidate will be tasked with implementing a dynamic assembly line of our high mix custom air handlers and must be able to establish assembly cells, identify and design fixtures, understand takt times, and adapt assembly methods to changing schedules. This is a very hands on engineering position.
Qualifications;
- Degree in Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering
- Three to five years of manufacturing experience preferred
- Continuous process design, improvement, and analysis
- Project management
- Training and implementing assembly methods that are unique to the products and schedules
- Identify and implement assembly fixtures
- Line balancing in conjunction with Takt times
- Visual management and key movement triggers
- Ability to work with production to optimize labor
- Tool optimization
- Provide input and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOP)
- Implement lean principles
- Be a positive change agent for assembly
- Liaison between design engineering and production
- Quality Control
- Safety 1st orientated
- Trouble shooting throughout assembly process and apply best practices
- Serving as a technical resource to production staff, customers and sales
Training in Richmond BC requires that you be willing and able to travel internationally.
