Job Description

The Team Coordinator (TC) role is the driving force within the cells for safety, quality, delivery and cost. The TC serves as a role model, supporting daily cell activities and ensuring peak performance. TC’s are the first level of escalation for manufacturing issues related to safety, processes, quality, and production output. They focus on ensuring production targets are met with minimum waste, focus on continuous improvement, and foster team development and progression. Salary $26.00 per hour

Job Responsibilities

• Demonstrate and model safe work practices by complying with all safety requirements/procedures and wear appropriate PPE. Ensure all team members are wearing appropriate PPE.
• Facilitate daily safety briefing communications within the cell. Lead daily stretching. Demonstrate a Zero OSHA recordable goal through mindset and behavior.
• Actively audit safety and address audit action items timely. Document all safety concerns within the cell and communicate to supervisor or EH&S per standard work.
• Demonstrates the ability to “stop the line.”
• Follow, comply, and support all quality procedures, processes, documents and standard work. Actively audit processes used by operators to ensure work instructions are used and followed.
• Partner with quality support staff and conduct checks to strive for a zero-defect finished product.
• Actively demonstrate quality containment processes, ensuring nonconforming material is documented and segregated. Ensure scrap management processes are followed. Track scrap and rejects within the cell to ensure it is turned in daily and not cluttering the cell.
• Train new operators to ensure continuity in how tasks are performed and set performance standards. Provide direction for process-related issues. Ensure skills matrices are update monthly, working with production supervisor.
• Coordinate all manufacturing processes, including sub-assembly prep within assigned cell(s). Manage daily planned production. Apply business software application to produce necessary reports.
• Responsible for ensuring all products/builds have a production order to support traceability on parts and products.
• Review cell for safety, quality, maintenance, material flow, or staffing that may impact team metrics for the day. Check calendar and emails for messages having immediate impact on planning, and relay as appropriate. Escalate issues as needed.
• Ensure stock levels for consumable and inventory parts on the floor are available and stock so operators do not need to stop work to restock.
• Encourage a proactive, customer-focused culture that responds to commitment of satisfying internal and external needs timely. Ensure effective shift to shift communication and handoff. Facilitate cross-training within cell. Work with leader on competency attainment for operators, updating skill matrices.

Background & Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent is required; technical degree preferred.
• Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of continuous, relevant, and recent manufacturing experience
  • Internal Candidates should have a minimum of 3 months at Danfoss and be fully competent in their current role with no attendance issues to be eligible to post.

• Experience reading and interpreting documents, including policies, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, schematics, and procedures. Applies common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Communicate effectively with groups and individuals; Write routine correspondence and reports.
• Proficient in operating a computer and related equipment and applications, specifically MS-Office skills (Outlook). Basic SAP knowledge preferred or willing to learn.
• Experience and/or formal training in problem-solving tools or continuous improvement methods.
• Demonstrated experience troubleshooting manufacturing issues. Uses critical thinking to define and solve problems.
