Production Scheduler

Reports to: General Manager

Job Status: Full-Time/Salary

Position Summary: The Production Scheduler develops, prepares, and maintains production schedules to guide the production activities and resources that achieve maximum efficiency and meet output and timeline objectives. Gathers data from internal teams to incorporate materials, inventories, resource availability, and delivery commitments into schedules. Monitors daily production results and revises scheduling responsive to changes in the flow of materials, designs, equipment, or other resources. Utilizes ERP systems, planning and scheduling software, or other database tools to develop and maintain master schedules and generate reporting. is responsible for maintaining consistent, uninterrupted material flow from the vendor to the Home Building Facility.

The Production Scheduler must have a strong understanding of the production process and be able to generate and maintain effective daily and weekly schedules. They post schedules, solve production problems, seek to improve processes, and help fulfill company expectations.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain production schedules using software or other resources
  • Schedule the production process and departmental activities relating to material, team member, and equipment availability.
  • Monitor production process, workflow, and schedules to ensure on-time delivery
  • Work and communicate collaboratively with the other disciplines within the facility
  • Identifying problems and issues and helping to improve processes
  • Provides quick responses to production issues to ensure that company deadlines are met
  • Effectively create and understand reports in order to make calculated production decisions
  • Using Team Members and resources in the most effective manner
  • Effectively manages backorders and develops scheduling to meet customer needs
  • Implement and abide by corporate policies and procedures
  • Prepare reports and monitor inventory, material usage and efficiency
  • Create strategic solutions to improve material flow

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in management, Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum 2-4 years’ experience in production scheduling or materials management.
  • Strong communication skills – written and verbal
  • Proficiency with computer and spreadsheet applications
  • Strong analytical & problem-solving skills
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks in fast-paced production environment
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to walk, climb, lift loads of at least 50 lbs., and perform such other physical duties as may be necessary to carry out the specific and general duties described above.
  • Must be able to consistently operate a computer and other office productivity machinery such as telephone, calculator, copy machine, computer printer, etc.
  • Must be able to communicate with others via phone, email, and in person. Must be able to exchange accurate information with others.
  • Constantly works in an indoor, temperature-controlled, sealed-window office environment.
  • Work primarily involves sitting / standing.
