This Program Coordinator position is in the Office of Consumer and Environmental Protection, Food Assistance Branch and will have the following duties:

This Program Coordinator position is in the Office of Consumer and Environmental Protection, Food Assistance Branch and will have the following duties:
- Place orders and track shipments of foods for The Emergency Food Assistance Program and the Commodity Supplemental Food Program, which are both statewide programs. File discrepancy reports and report food losses. Communicate with federal partners, food banks, and food pantries on a variety of food assistance topics.
- Review records and inspect facilities of recipient food banks and distributing agencies for compliance with rules and regulations regarding allocation, use, storage and issuance of commodity foods.
- Process monthly administrative fund invoices for payment to partner agencies. Assist with year-end closeout reports, audits and monthly progress reports.
- Provide professional administrative support to the Food Distribution Division staff in preparing documents, maintaining the Division webpage and organizing training sessions and offsite conferences. Communicate in writing, by phone or through electronic means with federal partners, food banks and food pantries on a variety of food assistance issues.
- Assist persons experiencing food insecurity by connecting them to local distribution agencies and other assistance programs. Receive phone calls and emails from persons in need and help locate the closest food bank or distributing center to them.
- Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Three years of professional experience in management or administration.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: A master's degree will substitute for one year of the required experience.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Administrative or business experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Working Conditions
Incumbents working in this job title primarily perform duties in an office setting. Minimal travel may be required.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
