Job description

Program Director: Brighter Path of Courtland is looking for a Program Director to be responsible for the sound management and effective service of all direct care departments. This position coordinates the program services of the school to maximize effectiveness and eliminate duplication of effort.

Program Director Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social work or closely related clinical field.
  • A minimum of two years experience in the management and supervision of staff with progression of responsibility in prior positions

Program Director Responsibilities:

  • Supervises department heads. Indirectly supervises all staff of clinical department.
  • Develops and monitors activities and functions (i.e. Family Day, Outings, and Positive Peer Culture) of the school to insure high quality of service.
  • Consults with and advises the Executive Director on problems relating to program operations.
  • Oversees Medicaid systems to ensure that standards are followed.
  • Oversees the child abuse/neglect, investigation of student complaints, and the students’ grievance process.
  • Reviews management of cases, assignments, case problems, issues, and methods of service.

About Brighter Path of Courtland:

Brighter Path Courtland was established in 1990 as a residential treatment facility, licensed by the Alabama Department of Mental Health, serving males placed by the Alabama Department of Human Resources and Alabama State Multiple Needs. Brighter Path Courtland is an Intensive Secure Facility with 28 beds for males with inappropriate sexual issues and 18 beds for males with severe emotional and behavioral issues.
