Job Description:

Project Designer – Transportation Infrastructure – Ontario, California

Opportunity :

Parsons is now hiring for a highly experienced Project Designer to join our Transportation Infrastructure team in our Ontario office ! In this role you will perform a wide variety of complex design tasks for road and highway engineering projects from feasibility studies, preliminary engineering, and final design to report writing and development of construction contract documents. We offer a hybrid remote working format with a 9/80 every other Friday off work schedule !

What You'll Be Doing :

• Perform a variety of roadway engineering tasks such as geometric design, engineering analyses, and project plan development.
• High level experience with Microstation and Autocad as well
• Prepare engineering design plans, engineering computations, technical reports, specifications, quantity takeoffs, and cost estimates.
• Assist the project manager in executing and delivering project assignments.
• Coordinate and communicate with internal team and external clients/agencies.
• May plan, lead, and supervise lower-level engineers on same assignments.
• Participate or project meetings as well as participate in site visits and field inspection as required.
• To work on Transportation Infrastructure and Transit projects
• Support projects with Caltrans, RCTC, SBCTA, METRO, and other agencies in Southern California.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  2-year technical degree or certificate of completion from an accredited designer/drafter course (or equivalent) is preferred, and typically 12 years or more of related experience (including some job leadership experience preferred ).
  Caltrans projects experience and knowledge of Caltrans standards , policies, and manuals is essential for this role
• Proficient in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
• Strong written and oral communications skills.
• Ability to apply advanced engineering techniques and practices as well as solve complex engineering problems.

Skills / Competencies :
Requirements include strong proficiency and experience with Microstation and/or Autocad Civil 3D, as well as knowledge of the capabilities and efficiencies of utilizing specific computer software to complete design assignments. Also requires the ability to perform in a lead design capacity on a project.

Salary Range:

$44.33 - $77.60
