Project/Unit Description

This position is for a Project Manager who will provide support to ongoing DoD programs in C2MA. This individual will manage project(s) scope, schedule, and budget for multi-million dollar sponsored projects. This position will also coordinate and perform administrative and procurement activities required by assigned research faculty members and government personnel. Tasks include: managing project resources, tracking project expenditures, organizing and preparing correspondence; developing reports and other documentation; scheduling meetings and events; procuring and tracking hardware and software; and completing database entry using government systems. The successful candidate will have proven hands-on experience as project coordinator, assistant project manager or project manager providing support for technically focused clients. Must have excellent attention to detail and be a self-starter.

Job Purpose

Initiate, plan, monitor and control, and close projects to meet business or sponsor requirements. Required to progressively elaborate high-level information into detailed plans throughout the project life cycle. Project Managers manage the project, program or portfolio team to meet the project or sponsor objectives. Project Managers monitor and control the work of producing the products, services or results that the project was undertaken to produce. Success is measured by product and project quality, timeliness, budget compliance, and degree of customer satisfaction. Project Managers must meet all compliance and other regulatory requirements throughout a projects life cycle to successfully close out the time-bound project, program or portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create schedules based on sponsor or project requirements.
  • Provide financial reporting, maintain schedules, project budget and requirements for sponsor reporting.
  • Provide purchasing support and inventory management.
  • Interface with and learn how to work with support units for administrative tasking.

Additional Responsibilities

6 months' experience as assistant project manager or project manager working in an environment supporting technical and engineering focused clients
Experience supporting technical and engineering projects for DoD
5 years’ experience with Microsoft Operating Systems and Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Required Minimum Qualifications

6+ months' experience as assistant project manager or project manager
2 years’ experience with Microsoft Operating Systems and Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active Secret Clearance

Travel Requirements

10% - 25% travel

Education and Length of Experience
